Mavisbank Gardens cladding project clears two planning conditions

What changed

Glasgow has discharged two planning conditions linked to replacement cladding at QE3, 104–116 Mavisbank Gardens.

The two records are not a new standalone permission. They are condition-discharge applications tied to consent 23/00111/FUL. In practical terms, they document the checks required before the cladding work could proceed in the approved manner.

The first milestone was condition 02. The council's 31 July decision notice says the requirement for details and samples of the proposed materials had been satisfied. It states that the cladding is then to be installed in accordance with the approved samples.

The second was condition 01. In a decision notice dated 22 September, the council confirmed that detailed construction drawings had been accepted. Those drawings were required to show plans, sections and elevations explaining how the material would be applied, including its framing and fixings.

What the application records say about the work

The applicant's DOC01 form said work had started on 22 June 2026. It said samples were displayed on site for the planning department to view, while existing panels had been removed to allow surveys and scaffolding to progress. The same form said no new cladding materials had yet been installed or ordered at that point.

That is an applicant account of the work programme, not an independent verification of what is now visible on the building.

What is still not established

The current records confirm the two planning-condition decisions, but they do not provide the full original 23/00111/FUL scheme or establish the final appearance of the replacement cladding. They also do not prove that the installation is complete.

The useful distinction is between the council's decisions and the construction outcome: Glasgow has discharged the material-sample and construction-detail conditions, while the available evidence does not yet show the finished facade.
