In May 2025, Edinburgh granted listed building consent to replace the single-glazed sash-and-case windows in a second-floor flat at 219 Ferry Road with Heritage Slimlite double-glazed sashes. The approved scheme restores the original cases and keeps the window moulds, dimensions and other features.
The council's report describes the flat as part of a Category B-listed tenement in the Victoria Park Conservation Area. It says the existing windows were in poor condition and that the proposed glazing dimensions were appropriate. The officer concluded the work would not harm the building's architectural and historic interest or the conservation area's character. Historic Environment Scotland made no comment, and the report records no public representations.

The consent applies to drawings 01-07 and requires the work to begin within three years of the decision. It is a decision on this flat's submitted scheme, not a general approval for other windows in the conservation area.
