Two South Lanarkshire applications propose BT Street Hub kiosks on public footpaths in Cambuslang and Rutherglen.
The Cambuslang file names the footpath outside 27 Main Street; the Rutherglen file identifies the footpath outside 72 Main Street. Each form describes one BT Street Hub unit with advertising panels on either side. The Cambuslang form lists BT Group plc as the applicant.

Both applications were received on 3 August 2026 and validated on 24 September. Each form gives the application site as 0.43 square metres and records the existing use as a public footpath. Asked whether public paths or access would be affected, both applicants answered “No”.
That answer is the applicants’ position, not a council finding about pedestrian access. The current CityScope records list both applications as Registered and show no decision. The submitted material reviewed here does not establish how much clear footway would remain or whether the council accepts the access assessment. Both kiosks remain proposals.
