Fife’s live planning portal lists the Greig Institute sports-pitch application as permitted with conditions. The council’s handling report places the 3G pitch within Windygates’ settlement boundary and protected Open Space, while the associated car park would sit on agricultural land outside that boundary.
A new case, 26/00228/NMV1, is a non-material variation to that permission. Fife’s current record says it was received and validated on 14 September 2026 and remains Registered, with no decision recorded. Its description names changes to fencing height and layout, pathways and gates.

The handling report describes replacing one existing grass pitch with a 3G surface measuring 106m by 70m, including a 100m by 64m full-size pitch; another grass pitch would remain. The proposed scheme includes eight 15m LED floodlight columns and maximum opening hours of 08:00 to 22:00 every day.
The car-park layout includes 28 spaces, two designated for disabled users, and a further 40 overspill spaces. The report places the nearest homes about 50m from the pitch and 30m from the car park, and describes 5m and 3m safety fencing with acoustic panels along the northern perimeter.

The current extract confirms the broad scope of the September variation but does not establish its exact fence, path or gate revisions. The live summary records conditional permission for the original scheme; the inspected material does not set out the conditions or establish construction progress.
