A 2025 Proposal of Application Notice for Novar Wind Farm sets out a major change in the site's turbine layout: it describes decommissioning 34 existing turbines, with a maximum blade-tip height of 60m, for a 50-year wind farm with up to 10 turbines reaching up to 180m.

The description also lists a control building, substation, access tracks, borrow pits, underground cabling, construction compounds, laydown areas, a meteorological mast and other infrastructure. Those are parts of the outline submitted in the notice, not a settled design.

Highland Council's current summary identifies the site as Novar Wind Farm, Novar Estate, Evanton, and marks the notice “Case CLOSED”. The record was received in 2025; it is a past procedural milestone, not a new permission. A Proposal of Application Notice does not establish consent for the wind farm, the final turbine layout or whether construction has begun.
