Edinburgh granted advert consent on 28 April 2025 for 32 non-illuminated letting signs at a residential development site 143 metres south-east of 94 Ocean Drive. The council’s report says removable, self-adhesive vinyl with 50 per cent transparency would cover ground-floor glazing across four blocks and their connecting links.
The 1.01-hectare site lies between Albert Dock and Victoria Dock. The 2025 report described it as part of a residential development then under construction; the planning history lists permission for 338 flats across four buildings and a design variation granted in 2024. The sources reviewed for this story do not establish the development’s current construction status. The sign consent was for advertisements only and did not grant housing permission.

A separate advert application at Ocean Terminal, 98 Ocean Drive, was granted on 17 March 2025. It covered a fascia sign, an illuminated totem and two illuminated fascia logos on the eastern elevation, mainly the southern stair tower of the shopping complex’s attached multi-storey car park. The council report says a very large banner on the south side was removed from the proposal.
The records describe different sites and different sign schemes: letting graphics for a residential development and signs at Ocean Terminal. The two applications do not establish a single connected project.
